Made sure the new AD password was good and ready. Logged back in as the user from the Preboot login with the old AD password which brought us to the account login screen. Not sure why but as soon as we get another instance of this very problem, we'll test again. When we enable FileVault in High Sierra The mobile accounts password changes but not the FileVault password.
